SCROLL DOWN FOR THE ENGLISH INTERVIEW!

Ich durfte Abbi im Vorfeld der LoveLetterConvention in Berlin interviewen - und ich hatte sowas noch NIE vorher gemacht - also ich hoffe man verzeiht mir meine Talentfreiheit ☺

Ich sollte Abbi in der Lobby ihres Hotels treffen - und da stand ich nun - ganz aufgeregt und kurz vorm Herzanfall!
Dann kam sie ganz lieb und goldig dahergelaufen ☺
Begrüßung etc. etc.
Ich hab ihr dann die Tüte mit ganz viel deutschem Naschkram übergeben (u.a. Toffifee, Mon Cherie, Haribo - die neuen sauren Deutschland-Flaggen, Duplo, Raffaelo, Milka - die große, Choc Jelly, Kinder Riegel, Yogurette etc.) Sie hat sich sehr gefreut und als ich sie gewarnt hab dass auch Alkohol mit bei ist, also dass sie das nicht gleich an die 3 Kinder verteilen sollte, sagte sie, dass sie das sowieso erst macht nachdem sie sich das tollste rausgesucht hat ... wenn dann noch was übrig ist, bekommen das die Juniors und ihr Mann ☺

Dann fängt sie an zu erzählen was sie schon in Berlin gemacht haben und was sie besichtigt haben - was total doof war, weil das eigentlich die erste Frage auf meinem Zettel war ☺☺☺
Sie hatten sich vom Hotel englischsprachigen Guide gebucht der sie am Morgen schon etwas durch die Stadt geführt hatte und ihre Family war auch jetzt grad noch unterwegs. Und für die nächsten Tage hätten sie auch noch einiges vor...es gibt ja sooo viel zu sehen in Berlin!
Sie fand das Haus der Kanzlerin so toll und riesig - verglichen mit ihrem Mini-Haus in den USA ☺

Dann haben wir uns auf eine Couch in der Lobby gesetzt und ich hab eigentlich meine Kamera benutzen wollen um das Ganze zu filmen, aber die wollte nirgends so richtig stehenbleiben, also hab ich Abbi mein Handy in die Hand gedrückt und sie hat dann ihre Antworten da reingesprochen ☺

Und ich hoffe ihr verzeiht mir meine Fragen - ich hatte keine Ahnung was ich fragen sollte - das war das erste Interview meines Lebens! 1-2 Fragen kamen von Fans - die anderen musste ich mir selbst einfallen lassen - also bitte überseht meine Originalitätslosigkeit☺

So - dann geht's mal los......

1. Wenn du irgendein Buch in der Literatur-Geschichte hättest schreiben können, welches würdest du als liebstes Dein nennen?

HARRY POTTER und der Stein der Weisen. Ich wünschte mir dass das meine Serie wäre. Das ist einfach das brillianteste Stück Literatur was ich jemals gelesen habe. Sooo gut, einfach fantastisch.
Meine 67-jährige Mutter - die immer nur Romanzen gelesen hatte - ich hab ihr das Buch gegeben und sie hat nicht aufgehört bis sie fertig war. Das wär das beste was sie jemals gelesen hat, meinte sie dann. Supertoll!

2. Hast du eigentlich überhaupt noch Zeit zum Lesen?

Ähm, ich lese fast nur noch Bücher die noch nicht veröffentlicht sind. Also, z.B. ich bin sehr gut befreundet mit Jamie McGuire und Colleen Hoover und wir lesen gegenseitig unsere Bücher wenn wir mit dem Schreiben fertig sind. Also, jetzt ausser deren Bücher zu lesen wenn sie fertig sind und meine Kommentare und Verbesserungsvorschläge dazu abzugeben, hab ich eigentlich kaum Zeit was anderes zu Lesen. Ich versuche es, aber es klappt nicht so oft

3. Was war dein Traum Job als du klein warst?

Ich wollte schon Schreiben seitdem ich neun war. I hab jedem erzählt dass ich das machen werde wenn ich groß bin. Ich wusste nur nicht dass ich mit 20 mit dem Kinderkriegen anfangen würde, das hat mich zeitlich ein bisschen zurückgeworfen.

4. Hast du ungewöhnliche oder seltsame Schreib-Angewohnheiten?

Ja. Ich hab gerne ein Twizzlers aus meinem Mund hängen. Kennst du Twizzlers?

Ich bin besessen von den Dingern. Ich ess die gar nicht, ich kau nur gerne an den Enden rum. Sehr seltsam. Ich muss das machen wenn ich Schreibe. Keine Ahnung, ich muss die irgendwie haben, yep, das ist meine seltsame Angewohnheit.

5. Wenn Rush, Woods, Grant und Tripp eine Rock Band gründen würden - wie könnte die heissen?

[lacht] Hmmm, ich hab keine Ahnung. Schwere Frage... wie würd ich die nennen? Keine Ahnung wie ich die nennen würde. Da müsst ich drüber nachdenken. Ich hab schon eeewig gebraucht mir die Namen für die zwei Bands, die ich schon habe, auszudenken. Also .... keine Ahnung ☺

6. Nancy will wissen ob es vielleicht eine Chance gibt für ein 'ZukunftsBuch' der Rosemary Beach Reihe - also wo alle 10 Jahre älter sind oder so☺

Nein, im Moment nicht. Ich kann euch verraten dass es ein Geheimes Projekt gibt wovon ich noch nicht reden darf, was ich aber bald bekanntgeben darf. Das kommt dann im Herbst auf Englisch raus. Und es wird eventuell eine Art Vorgeschichte sein - und vielleicht von einem ganz berühmten Rocker handeln von dem wir alle gerne mehr wissen möchten, ein paar Jahrzehnte in der Vergangenheit. Mehr kann ich noch nicht sagen, ich hätte das schon eingentlich gar nicht verraten dürfen ☺ Man hat mir gesagt noch nichts zu sagen!

7. #NanHasser ☺ gibt es eine Chance dass irgendein Typ in Rosemary Beach auftaucht der sie endlich zähmen kann?

Also, es wird nicht Mase werden [den treffen wir in Grant & Harlow's Buch] Das wär zu komisch, er ist ja schliesslich ihr Bruder, weil sie den gleichen Dad haben. Aber viele kommen da durcheinander und fragen ob er vielleicht mit Nan zusammenkommt. Dann fragen auch viele: wird es Captain sein? Captain's Vater ist der den sie so lange als Vater angesehen hatte, also das wäre auch zu seltsam. Aaaber, ich habe einen Kerl im Auge und er wird in One More Chance einen kleinen Gastauftritt haben und jeder wird dann auch merken dass er das ist. Aber WENN ich Nan's Geschichte erzähle, wird das dann das letzte Buch der Serie sein. Sie hat aber noch einen langen Weg vor sich. Es wird nicht einfach sein sie 'hinzukriegen' ☺ Leute lieben es sie zu hassen, also es wird einige mehrere Bücher brauchen um ihre Story abzuschliessen.

8. Wen würdest du nehmen wenn du mit einem/zwei deiner Charaktere eine Art Cross-Over mit einer anderen Serie machen könntest? Wie z.B. Rush & Blaire und Roarke & Eve Dallas in einer Art Erotischem Krimi ☺ ......

Ich hab keine Ahnung wer die zwei sind? Sorry, ich weiß, ich sollte verhauen werden. Ich lese Nora Roberts nicht mehr, nicht weil ich sie nicht mag, sondern weil ich einfach keine Zeit mehr habe. Ich lese sehr viele Indie Autoren. Früher hab ich öfters was von ihr gelesen aber an Roarke und Eve kann ich mich nicht erinnern.
OK, wenn ich ein Cross-Over machen würde, mit wem? Jeder weiß ja dass ich ein Travis Maddox Fan bin, also würde ich Rush und Blaire wohl Travis und Abby treffen lassen.
Wir haben sogar schon einmal darüber geredet eine Location zu finden. Rosemary Beach z.B. und dann würden wir jeweils ein Paar von uns nehmen und wir (Jamie, Colleen und ich) würden dann ein Buch schreiben. Die drei Paare würden sich treffen und zusammen agieren aber jeder würde seinen eigenen Teil machen, weil wir einfach zu unterschiedlich schreiben. Joa, das könnte mal passieren. Irgendwann, wenn wir alle mal Zeit haben.

9. Gibt es Neuigkeiten zu einer TV-Serie oder einem Film zu einer deiner Serien?

Serie leider noch nicht. Ich hab einige Anfragen auf Filme abgelehnt weil ich einfach keinen Film möchte. Ich will eine Fernsehserie. Ich mag nicht wie Bücher in Filmen rüberkommen. Ich bin nie zufrieden damit und ich wär total unglücklich wenn sowas mit einem meiner Bücher passieren würde. Also will ich eine Serie - jep - dadrauf hoffe ich ☺ Das steht auf meiner Wunschliste.

Siehste, war doch gar nicht so schlimm!
[Adminchen war nämlich vorher äusserst ängstlich und gepeinlicht!]

Ein paar andere Themen hat Abbi im Laufe des Tages auch noch angesprochen .... das hab ich allerdings nicht aufgenommen wie dieses Interview. Mal gucken was mir noch einfällt :)

Also, sie hat z.B. erzählt dass sie nicht raucht, weil ihre Mutter - die von altem amerikanischen 'Geld-Adel' abstammt, es für unsittlich hält wenn eine Dame raucht ☺

Sie würde gerne mehr schreiben und mehr veröffentlichen, bzw. mal spontaner etwas veröffentlichen, aber dummerweise hat sie ihren letzten Vertrag mit dem US Verlag nicht ordentlich gelesen und darin steht, dass sie, solange sie bei diesem Verlag unter Vertrag steht, keine Bücher selbst herausbringen darf, also als Indie Autorin.
Den nächsten Vertag wird sie sich besser durchlesen.

Als sie in England waren wollten sie alle natürlich mal Fish & Chips probieren - muss man ja machen wenn man in London ist, aaaaber die Engländer hätten ja absolut keine Ahnung wie man ordentlich Fisch fritiert - das können die US Südstaatler viel besser! Diese ekelige englische Panade war so fürchterlich! Man soll ja immer die Delikatessen eines Landes testen, aber das hat ihr wirklich nicht geschmeckt!

So - an mehr kann ich mich beim besten Willen nicht erinnern ☺

I was given the amazing chance to interview Abbi a day before the LoveLetterConvention in Berlin and since I never interviewed anyone before, I hope you'll overlook any talentlessness on my side☺

I was supposed to meet Abbi in her Hotel Lobby - and there I was waiting - all scared and very close to a heart attack!!!
That's when she came walking towards me, all cute and adorable and sweet ☺
We said hello, shook hands etc. etc ...
Then I gave her the bag with lots of german sweets and told her to check it first, and to not give them to her kids immediately, because some had alcohol in them! And she said, she wouldn't have done that anyway, she'll go through it first and take out her favorites and if there's any left, the kids and her husband could have it☺

Then she started talking about what they already did in Berlin, which sights they've been to see - which was a total grrrrr-moment for me, because that was the first question on my list!!!
They had the hotel book them a tour-guide that morning, and they already visited a few sights. Her family was still out on the town now and they're planning on getting in a lot more in the next few days. There's sooo much to see in Berlin! She especially loved the residence of our Chancellor Angela - a huge mansion, compared to her little place back home ☺

We sat down on one of the seats in the Hotel Lobby and I had planned to film the interview with my camera, but the stupid thing wouldn't stay where it was suppposed to, so I had to give Abbi my phone and we only recorded her voice. ☺

I hope you'll forgive me for the questions I asked her - I had no idea what to ask - I never did this before!! 1-2 questions were sent to me by fans, but I had to think really hard to come up with a few not too boring questions. I hope you won't mind my talentlessness! ☺

Here we go....

1. If you could’ve written ANY book in the history of book-writing - which one would you choose?

HARRY POTTER and the Sorcerer's Stone. [The Philosopher's Stone in the UK]
I wish that was my series. It's the most brilliant piece of literature I've ever read....It's sooo good...it's fantastic.
My 67-year-old mother, who's always only read Romance, I made her read The Sorcerer's Stone, she didn't stop until she was done. She was like: this is the best stuff I've ever read!
It's super good!

2. Do you even have time to read anymore?

Ahm, I read mostly books that aren't out yet. So, for example, I'm very close with Jamie McGuire and Colleen Hoover, we read each other's books when we're done. Sooo, other than reading like their books before they're out and giving feedback I don't have a lot of time to read other books, I try, but it doesn't happen often.

3. What was your Dream Job as a kid?

I wanted to write since I was nine years old. I told everyone that's what I would do when I grew up. I just didn't know I was gonna start having kids at 20, so that slowed me down.

4. Do you have any unusual or weird writing habits?

Yes. I like to have a Twizzlers hanging out of my mouth. Do you know what a Twizzler is?

I'm obsessed with those. But I don't really eat them, I just like to chew on the end. It's weird. I have to do that when I'm writing, I don't know, I have a fixation, I have to have it, I don't know, but yeah...that's my weird thing.

5. If Rush, Woods, Grant and Tripp would start a Rockband - what would you call it?

[laughs] Uhm, I have no idea. It's a hard one...what would I call it? Uhm, I don't know what I would call it. I would have to think about it. To come up with the two Rock Bands I have so far, it took me a really long time to name those bands, so I don't know.

6. Nancy wants to know if there’s any chance you’re maybe planning on writing something ‘futuristic’ about the Rosemary Beach Group ... something where’s they’re all a bit or a lot older - like some kind of Epilogue - ‘’10 years later’’

No, not right now. I will tell you that there's a secret that I can't say, that I get to announce soon. That comes out in the fall. And it maybe something kinda like a prequel, for maybe one of the really famous rock band members that we all wanna know about, back in the day. But I can't say anything else, because I wasn't supposed to say that much. They're telling me not to say yet.

7. #NanHater ☺ any chance that a great guy will show up, who will finally ‘tame’ her?

It won't be Mase, of course, I feel like that would be too V.C. Andrews, they're just too close. Well for starters, Mase IS her brother, because they have the same Dad. Yeah and everyone gets confused with that. And another question is: Will it be Captain? Captain has the Dad she thought was hers for so long, so that's just weird. So, I do have a guy in mind and he will make a small appearance in One More Chance and everone will know that's him when that happens. But IF it happens, and I DO end it with her, it will be the last book in the Rosemary Beach Series. Because she has a long way to go. She's not gonna be easily fixed. People love to hate her, so to fix her it's gonna take several, several books.

8. If you could pick one of your characters to do a Cross-Over-Book with any character from any book, who would you choose? Like for example Rush & Blaire with Roarke & Eve Dallas in some kind of Erotic Suspense Romance......

I don't know who they are? I'm sorry, I should be spanked, I know. I don't read her (Nora Roberts) anymore, not because I don't like her, just because I don't have time. I read a lot of people that come from the Indie world now. I used to read her back in the day, but I don't remember Eve & Roarke.
So, if I could do a cross-over with anyone, who would it be?
Everyone knows I'm a Travis Maddox fan. So I'd probably have them meet Travis and Abby. We've talked about choosing a location, possibly Rosemary Beach, and each of us taking a couple, me, Jamie, and Collen and writing a book. Intertwining those three couples, but we would each write a couple, cause we write too differently. So, that may actually happen eventually. One day, when we acutally have time.

9. Do you have any news about a Movie or TV-Series about any of your books?

TV Series no. I've turned down options for movies because I don't want a movie. I want a TV Series. I don't like the way movies end up for books. I'm never happy and I would be very unhappy if it was my book that happened to, so uhm, I want a TV Series and I'm holding out for it. That's on my Bucket List.

See, I wasn't scary at all!

During that day, Abbi talked about lots of things, I might remember some little facts, if I try real hard....let me see what I can come up with ☺

She mentioned that she doesn't smoke. Her mom - who comes from 'old money' always said that a lady doesn't smoke - so she never did.☺

She would love to write and publish more books - or rather - she would love to publish something spontaneously as an Indie Author. Unfortunately she didn't really read the small print in her publisher's contract - they don't allow her to self-publish as long as she's under contract with them! Next time she'll read every word of the contract!

When she visited the UK with her family they wanted to try Fish & Chips - you have to when you're in London, but those Brits have NO idea how to fry fish! Their fried fish at home (in The South!) is so much better!
