✿ Review ✿ Charlotte's Bed ✿ S.J Stava ✿

At thirty, Charlotte is sick of the single life. Sick of online matchmaking, sick of bad first (AND second) dates, and sick of the dreaded "I can't believe you're not married yet!" pitying stares. So when her boyfriend proposes who just happens to be a Dean at the university where she works she's thrilled to bid her singledom adieu. At the start of the new semester, she seems to have it all: a great job, great friends, and now. . . a great fiancé.

So whats the catch? An annoyingly handsome new teaching assistant and the opportunity to direct the schools fall production. Still cant see the downside? Neither can Charlotte until suddenly, what she thought she wanted, might not be enough anymore.

How do you choose between the life you've always imagined and the love you've suddenly discovered?

Copy received from the author  for an honest review

Who would you choose - the man you think you should be, or the man your body, heart and soul cries out to be with.

This is Charlotte's dilemma - stick with the the safe, dependable Richard, or follow her heart and be with her sexy teacher's aide, Mason.

Ugh, Richard.  What a d*ck.  I disliked him right from the start.  He was arrogant,  self centred.  He just rubbed me the wrong way right from the get go.  I just couldn't understand why Charlotte was with him

Though as we get further into the story, yes I could see why Charlotte felt she should be with Richard, but the more she thought that, the more I wanted her to run, run as fast as she could.

Then there was Mason... le sigh.  You could feel the pull towards each other from the minute he walked into her life.  They really did have each other at hello.  There was nothing not to like about him.

As heads and hearts become involved, I really just wanted to shake some bloody sense into Charlotte.  Stop playing with both men (though Richard - pfff couldn't care what happened to him at all!  Not often that I don't care what happens to a character, good or bad, but him just ... nothing).

As I was reading, Charlotte's indecisiveness just got me so agro.  The flip flopping between the two men - gah!! I could  feel my body tensing up as I go frustrated with her!

You know I am invested in a story when I get that physical reaction to what is happening!

So, while this is a romance book, it is also - and maybe more so - a story of self discovery.

I enjoyed the story, it flowed well and I liked the writing.  I did not know what to expected when I first started reading, but I was invested right from the start.

Thank you Ms Stava for the chance to read Charlotte's Bed.
