✿ Free Me (The Found Duet #1) ✿ Laurelin Paige ✿ Review ✿

Her story began long before she started working at The Sky Launch...

Screw fairytales. The only reward Gwen Anders got from her rough childhood was a thick skin and hard heart. Shes content with her daily grind managing a top NYC nightclubEighty-Eighth Floor. So hers isnt a happily ever after. She doesnt believe in those anyway.

Then she meets J.C.

The rich, smooth talking playboy is the sexiest thing that Gwen has ever encountered, but shes not interested in a night-in-shining latex. But when a family tragedy pushes her to the brink, its J.C. whos there to teach her a new method of survival, one based on following primal urges and desires. His no-strings-attached lessons require her to abandon her constant need for control. Her carefully built walls are obliterated.

Gwen discovers theres a beautiful world outside her prison. Freedom is exhilaratingand terrifying. When she starts to feel something for J.C., she fears for her heart. Especially as she realizes that he has secrets of his own. Secrets that don't want to set him free.

ARC Received for an honest review

I have adored Laurelin Paige's writing since I first stumbled upon Hudson Pierce (le sigh) in The Fixed Trilogy.

The Found Duet series is a spin off of The Fixed Trilogy, and it is a great new series.

We were introduced to Gwen, Norma's sister in the Fixed Trilogy.  She had a life before working at Skylaunch, and this is it.

JC is the man who gets her worked up from the first time she sees him, feelings she has not felt in a long time.   He's sexy, arrogant - and wants her.  She may be all kinds of uptight, but he thinks he is the man to loosen her up.

Boy oh boy does he loosen her up.

And when they loosen up together - holy hotness Batman!  Sexy as all hell!

Both Gwen and JC have things in their past and their present lives that hold them back from really feeling, and as we learn more, yes I could understand it, as much as they frustrated me with their flip-flopping.

I wanted nothing more than for our lovelies to get properly together, just knew that they are perfectly imperfect for each other - but really, who wants perfect and easy?

The interactions bewteen Gwen and JC are intense, sweet, sexy, sad.  The storyline is emotional, with a bit of suspense.  Just what we have come to expect from Ms Paige.

There is not a cliffhanger per se, but the end of Free Me left me wanting, no, needing to know what happens next.

Hurry up and give us book 2, Find Me, please Ms Paige

Laurelin Paige is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She's a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there's kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn't seem to complain, however. When she isn't reading or writing sexy stories, she's probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine.
