From #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the next sizzling novel in the Rosemary Beach series, featuring well-known playboy and Blaires half brother, Captain.

The look on Rose
s face had screamed that she was hiding something. Hell, shed practically run away from me. There was something to that. I knew there was...

After ten years in the employ of a mysterious crime boss, River
Captain Kipling is ready to leave his sordid pastand his cover occupation as an upscale restaurateurbehind him. The only thing standing in the way of his retirement is his commitment to launch a new restaurant in the resort town of Rosemary Beach. With his sister, Blaire, nearby, Captain can delay his dream of running a humble bar on the waterfront, but the unwanted attentions of his head server, Elle, have him itching to get out.

Until he notices Rose Henderson, the new server at the restaurant. All he knows about the pretty redhead with the cute glasses is that she
s a hardworking single mom from Oklahoma. But theres something overly familiar about her laugh...something strange about the way she looks at Captain...

ARC received from S&S Australia for an honest review

I love Abbi Glines and the Rosemary Beach series, but I have to admit, I have found the last few books a bit wishy-washy.

But this is Captain's story, and it is one I have been waiting to come along for a while now.

And to me it is back to Rosemary Beach's best.

There has always been that air of mystery around Captain- who is he, what is it that he does.  And now we find it all out.

There is something about the waitress Rose that intrigues him, beguiles him, scares him.  And he is not sure what it is about her but he can't keep away from her.

And when we fid out what the deal is - BAM!  Wowsers!!  Was not expecting that for him!

I love the interaction between Rose/Cap.  Told in both past and present tense, we got to learn a lot more about Cap than the gun for hire guy we have previously met. And I loved every second of it.

The Best Goodbye is a beautiful, tender, engaging second chance romance, and I felt this took the series back to the Rush and Woods era that I loved the most.

Now bring on Nan's story.  Let's see if Ms Glines can change me from a #NanHaterForLife!
