ARC received via Netgalley for an honest review

I have said it before and I will say it again about this series - I love the role reversal with the characters. I love the strong females making their way in the male dominated professions they are working in.

Delaney is a body guard and is finally given the chance to prove herself on her first big job.

Jax was in the wrong place at the wrong time and now the bad guys are after him.

It took me a while to warm up to Jax. He was very mercurial, and my head spun with his mood swings. Whiplash alert!!! Flirty one minute, sexist pig the next! Maybe a couple of chapters from him POV might have made his behaviour easier to understand.

I loved how Laney had the balls to stand up to the males around her. Loved her even more as she had to bite her tongue to not tell them off on more than one occasion - I could totally relate to that!

There was the sense of doom hanging over the characters, there was the da da daaaaaahm Something's Gonna Happen vibe throughout the book, and to me it did feel a little anticlimactic when it all happened - but this could just be me.

I have enjoyed the Alpha's Heart series, and look forward to what Ms Jewel brings us next.
