Hudson Valley Series #2

5 Stars

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton brings her trademark blend of funny and sexy to this second contemporary romance in the brand-new Hudson Valley series!

Manhattan’s It Girl, Natalie Grayson, has it all: she’s a hot exec at a leading advertising firm, known industry-wide for her challenging and edgy campaigns. She’s got a large circle of friends, a family that loves her dearly, and her dance card is always full with handsome eligible bachelors. What else could a modern gal-about-town wish for? The answer, of course, is...cheese.

Natalie’s favorite part of each week is spending Saturday morning at the Union Square Farmer’s Market, where she indulges her love of all things triple cream. Her favorite booth also indulges her love of all things handsome. Oscar Mendoza, owner of the Bailey Falls Creamery and purveyor of the finest artisanal cheeses the Hudson Valley has to offer, is tall, dark, mysterious, and a bit oblivious. Or so she thinks. But that doesn’t stop Natalie from fantasizing about the size of his, ahem, milk can.

Romance is churning, passion is burning, and something incredible is rising to the top. Could it be...love?

Natalie is very happy in her life.
She's a very confident and beautiful size 18 girl living the good life in New York's West Village.

She has the perfect advertising agency job. The perfect friends and family. She's not afraid to flirt up guys. Her life is beautiful.
But there's this one guy.... the cheese guy. (Oh, did I forget to mention that Natalie is addicted to cheese? It's her biggest love!!)
Oscar sells the cheese he makes at his farm in Upstate at the Farmer's market every Saturday, and Natalie is buying it, every Saturday. For the past six months. But their conversation has yet to be more than:
Brie?
Oh. Yes.

As soon as she sees him, or wants to start flirting with him, all her flirting talents leave her - MEGA leave her. She's like the shy, chubby 14 year old she once was.

But things might have to change now.
Her new project at work is to bring tourists back to Bailey Falls - Upstate New York.

The same town where her bestie Roxie lives with her hottie farmer Leo and also the place where Oscar is doing his cheesy business.
And of course Leo and Oscar are friends.
So she has to see him - at dinner and in the barn....Time to put her OH YESSES to another use ....

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO NATALIE & OSCAR???
WILL SHE BE ABLE TO TALK TO HIM????
WiLL THERE BE A HEA???
WiLL THERE BE A CLiFFHANGER???

I REALLY LOVED THIS BOOK!

I reallllly loved the Redhead series & Wallbanger - and I loved all the following Cocktail books, but I didn't loooove love them - but this one here... just like the first book in the series NUTS .... OY!!! SO GOOD!
It was adorable and funny and sexy from the first word to the last!
You can't help but love this slightly insane, slightly over-the-top New York girl and her HOT AS HELL Dairy Farmer!!!!

There are sooo many hilarious scenes and sexy scenes and cute and adorable scenes!
It takes Natalie such an amazingly funny but LONG time to finally start talking to Oscar. But it's definitely been worth the wait. He's the total opposite of Natalie's non-stop-talking-mouth. Those two are just totally perfect together.

You will so want your own tattooed cheese man after reading this book. ☺

Of course there are some problems in the way of an instant Happy End....
Like Oscar's ex-wife ... only she's kinda behaving like she's not all that ex.
And of course Natalie's mega-love of all things NYC might stand in the way of her moving into the Country to be with her Dairy-guy.
Also, both Natalie & Oscar have had some bad things happen in their pasts :/

But of course problems are just created to solve them - and we have LOTS of amazing reading time doing just that! And we also might learn how to make cheese. ☺☺☺

CREAM OF THE CROP was such an adorably funny & sexy & cheesy romance! (Cheesy as in Cheese!)
You'll sooo fall in love with Natalie and her Dairy-Hottie! Also, I will be permanently leaving Germany soon! Hudson Valley here I come!!! I'm accepting donations for my new farm via paypal!

Now I really want to read book #3 ... it will be about a hot hotel-owner, who will fall in love with Roxie & Natalie's bestie Cara!

ARC received for an honest review

The next book in the Hudson Valley series woohoo.

I absolutely adored the first book in the series, Nuts, but I LOVED Cream Of The Crop.

Firstly thank you Ms Clayton for writing about an average woman.  Natalie is size 18, sassy and sexy.  She rocks her curves, owns each and every one of them, and has men falling on their knees for her.

Until him. Hot cheese guy. She becomes a tongue-tied mess around him.  And it is just so cute to watch her try to figure out why this guy affects her.

Natalie is kind of half way crazy. She is a tried an true Manhattan girl from the top of her head to the tips of her toes.

Oscar the Hot Dairy guy is the quiet to Natalie's noise.  Whereas Natalie has the gift of the gab, Oscar is a man of few words.

But a man of many smouldering looks.  Knicker-combusting lingering looks across the counter.

It is definitely worth the wait to take things past 3 words with this pair.

He really is the cheese to her cracker.  Did I mention that Natalie has a love that should not be spoken of for... cheese!  It is kind of a religious experience for her.

So can hot farmer and city girl make things work?

For that you are going to have to read for yourself.

Cream Of The Crop is a sweet, sexy, funny read that had me hooked from the first word to the last.

Can't wait to see who the 3rd Hudson Valley series is about.  I hope you don't keep us waiting too long Ms Clayton!

LiNKS TO THE BOOK AND AUTHOR

BOOK #1 - NUTS

 STALK ALICE ON:

Alice Clayton is a novelist with an unholy love for her KitchenAid mixer. Making her home in St Louis, she enjoys gardening but not weeding, baking but not cleaning up afterwards, and is trying desperately to get her long time boyfriend to make her an honest woman. Hi sweetie!!

After working for years in the cosmetics industry as a makeup artist, esthetician, and national educator for a major cosmetics company, Alice picked up a pen (read laptop) for the first time at 33 to begin a new career, writer. Combining her love of storytelling with a sense of silly, she was shocked and awed to be nominated for a Goodreads Author award in 2010 for her debut novels, The Redhead Series.

Alice has penned three novels, The Unidentified Redhead,The Redhead Revealed, and coming soon in November 2012, Wallbanger. She thinks you should purchase them immediately. She’s not kidding, not even a little bit. Everyone needs some comedic erotica in their lives. She is hard at work on the third book in The Redhead Series, set to release in Spring of 2013, continuing the saucy and sexual escapades of everyone’s favorite couple, Jack and Grace.

Additionally, Alice loves spending time with her besties on Not Your Mother's Podcast, make sure you check them out at notyourmotherspodcast.com or over on iTunes. 3 women rushing towards their forties still acting like teenagers. A saucy little mix of sex, love, relationships, pop cultural, celebrity gossip and All Things Jake Ryan.

Alice enjoys pickles, Bloody Mary’s, 8 hours of sleep, and a good pounding.

Finally Alice would also like all her readers and listeners to help her convince Mt. Alice that the only other thing that would make her truly happy is finally bringing home a Bernese Mountain Dog. She is totally serious. And done talking about herself in the third person…
